I enjoyed the transitioning. Independent work environment with plenty of opportunities to increase your own skills, critical thinking, and publications. My schedule was VERY flexible! Staff was not well educated but did their jobs ok. Academic research depends on grant funding and that’s hard to come by.
I learned about the process of getting into medical school, residency program and graduating with medical doctors degree. Great people to work with and be around. I was told about a project and trusted to follow through. Sometimes difficult environment to get things done, as it depends on other people doing their work promptly. Although my position and job title was small, working in the lab has opened a lot of big doors for me in regards to my education. They were willing to help get the project finished.

The hardest part of the job was the surgery rotation. Hospital and college have great extras, like employee barbeques. The EEHS department mostly does auditing to create the safest work environment possible, so we need to be constantly emailing the labs or seeing the Principal Investigators in person to confirm lab safety.

Productive with lots of diversity. Need to set boundaries and take advantage of all the benefits offered.
However, when one becomes immersed in the everyday activities, you can catch on quick. On the bright side, the most enjoyable part being the learning that comes with the experience from great faculty. Otherwise, public transportation options are somewhat limited.

International Journal of Hypertension. I met some good people as co-workers and in management. The days for the most part were routine, ordering supplies and research animals. I enjoyed the transitioning. Great company to work at.
Great place to work. Location is outside of a large metropolis, at an idyllic suburb. Union job provides benefits and job security, Jewish institution holidays.

I am a student at a different college, so I work here during the summertime. Ask a question about working or interviewing at New York Medical College. NYMC allowed me to grow a lot as an individual in a short period of time. Management too PC and did not provide for advancement. Very minimal to say the least.
My fellow lab mates are helpful, fun and very dependable. Everyone receives four weeks vacation from the start of their employment, plus several holidays, personal time and sick time.
